Here’s one for the nostalgia. Rumor on the hardwood is that the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to bring back free agent Lamar Odom, who spent seven seasons on the team prior to balling with the Dallas Mavericks and L.A. Clippers this past year.
“Lakers have reached out to Lamar Odom, but it been hard to determine how high interest level is on either side thus far,” Ramona Shelburne of ESPN Los Angeles tweeted. During his time with the Lake show, Odom clocked in two consecutive titles in 2009 and 2010. The power forward was then traded in 2011 to the Mavs after a deal with Chris Paul was rejected by the league, according to CBS Sports.
The news of potentially bringing Odom back comes after another major player move took place on the West Side this past weekend. Free agent Dwight Howard was on the fence about leaving the Lakers after being offered a contract by the Houston Rockets Friday (July 5). By nightfall, Howard had donned his allegiance to H-Tine on Twitter, where he was the subject of much timeline foolery and a subliminal jab from the team’s star Kobe Bryant.
While the purple-and-gold are no strangers to the Larry O’Brien piece, re-aligning forces with Khloe Kardashian’s husband may cut a much needed reality check for both sides.
