Lauryn Hill Begins 3-Month Prison Sentence in Connecticut
According to TMZ, Lauryn Hill turned herself into authorities at a Connecticut prison this morning to begin serving a 3-month prison sentence for tax evasion.
The Federal Correction Institution in Danbury is described as a minimum security prison where inmates live in “barracks.” Sources say the singer will be housed with the general population instead of an isolated area.
Despite signing a new record deal to pay off her debts, Lauryn Hill was sentenced earlier this year after failing to pay millions of dollars in taxes. Since her sentencing, the rapper has rarely spoken with fans with the exception of new music and her thoughts on reverse racism.
