Pusha T Gives Update On ‘My Name Is My Name’ And ‘Cruel Winter’ Albums
The streets will have to wait until August for Pusha T’s debut solo album My Name Is My Name. The Clipse MC revealed that he was pushing back his LP a month due to the recent flood of new record releases like Kanye West’s Yeezus, J. Cole’s Born Sinner, Wale’s The Gifted and Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail.
“It’s not gonna drop on the 16th; we’re gonna push it back a month. There’s been a lotta, lotta music coming out… But at the end of the day, man, I still stand my ground,” he told Power 98. “That’s politics and logistics. My album is the best album of the year … I think the streets are going to have a classic hip-hop album. My Name is My Name is definitely the hardest album that’s going to come out this year, for sure.”
Push also denied a Cruel Winter release, despite CyHi The Prynce’s confirmation that the G.O.O.D. Music compilation would be out by the end of this year.
“Nah, man. We’re not doing the Cruel Winter album or the Cruel Summer sequel. There are too many projects we got going on,” he said. “Like I said, you got the Yeezus album, you got the Hall of Fame coming from [Big] Sean, you got my project, you got the 2 Chainz project. Like once we get all of that situated, then I’m sure… I mean, you even have Common coming. Right now, we’re not working on [any] compilations.”
