Beanie Sigel Releases Photos From Prison
Beanie Sigel is checking in from the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia with recently released photographs. Currently serving his two-year sentence for tax evasion, the Broad Street Bully is also slated to serve 6 to 23 months for drug possession.
Sigel, born Dwight Grant, was found in illegal possession of the prescription drug Percocet back in August 2012 — just two weeks after receiving his tax evasion charge — after being pulled over by police. He was also in possession of codeine along with $4,600 in cash. A loaded handgun was found in the vehicle as well.
The rapper’s tax charges found him in a $1 million debt from 2003 to 2005. His attorney Carson Morris rallied that he serve both sentences concurrently.
“Obviously, he’s had an incredible amount of success and opportunity in his life. He’s also made some mistakes, which have ended up putting him in custody. He’s ready to go ahead and put that behind him and move on with his life,” Morris said. earlier this year “He has a lot of catching up to do, but he also has a lot of talent and a lot of opportunity, hopefully. So the prospect is that he can get out and move on and start doing something productive with his life.”
