Donald Glover To Write, Executive Produce And Star In New FX Comedy

Donald Glover, also known as rapper Childish Gambino, will return to his acting roots on a new half-hour comedy tentatively titled Atlanta. According to Deadline, the Community comedian will write, executive produce and play the lead in the new show “set against the backdrop of the Atlanta music scene.”

This isn’t Glover’s first rodeo on a scripted series as he got his start on NBC’s popular sitcom 30 Rock. No details on when the FX show will air have been released but fans can enjoy a taste of the Gambino’s thespian skills in his short film Clapping For The Wrong Reasons. The director’s cut version is set to circulate the web this week. –Alley Olivier
