Gentleman’s Corner: Hit The Floor’s McKinley Freeman Gives Fitness Advice and Explains How He Maintains His Rock Hard Abs
One thing we love more then hot actors are hot-body actors and McKinley Freeman fits both bills. The Hit The Floor actor has been showing off his ab-heavy bod and steaming up our screens every Monday night on VH1. Playing bad boy Derek Roman, reminds us why good girls love bad guys—he’s everything we want but nothing we should have.
We caught up with him to get the secret to his rock hard abs and muscle frenzy biceps. He’s a health conscious guy with one weakness: “I’ll be honest I eat cupcakes but there’s a time and place for everything.”
Herewith, McKinley reveals his tips on staying healthy and simple exercises to incorporate into our workouts.
VIBE Vixen: How did you get into fitness?
McKinley Freeman: Part of it started from boredom. My cousin and me started lifting weights in his parent’s garage and that’s how it all started. In time those things started helping out when it came to basketball and weight training. Over the years I started getting a better understanding of what it’s like to be lean, more muscular, bigger, and learning what works for me.
What’s your daily diet?
I’m a person that doesn’t have a lot of time to prepare all kinds of meals. In the morning I have the Quaker oatmeal, the one in the big box. Not the one with all the sugar. I have that with a banana before and after the gym. I stay away from the stuff I know will make me tired or slow me down and aren’t the best for my body. I’ll be honest I eat cupcakes but there’s a time and place for everything. If I’m home and my mom and grandmother makes chicken, I have to have that but those are the times where it’s more of a luxury.
