Jay Z’s Rocawear Sued By HoodLove
Jay Z’s ROC Apparel Group is reportedly facing legal trouble over a shirt graphic (above) adorning the words “Hood Love” on it.
HoodLove LLC, a for-profit company dedicated to improving poverty-stricken communities, filed a lawsuit against Rocawear this month stating that they have owned the “HoodLove” trademark since 2006, according to TMZ.
The shirt design in question features Hood Love as well as lyrics from Jay’s The Black Album cut “What More Can I Say?” underneath it. HoodLove is suing for profits made from the shirt and also wants it pulled from retails stores.
This wouldn’t be the first time Hov’s clothing line has been hit with struggles. In June, the company was sued for an unpaid $450,000 bill and was forced to lay off employees last year after a hard-hitting loss in sales.–Alley Olivier
