Justin Bieber Won’t Face Charges For Hit-And-Run
Justin Bieber finally catches a break from bad press as the pop teen phenom won’t be facing charges for his June 17 run-in with a paparazzo, the L.A. Times reports.
The L.A. Country District attorney decided to reject criminal charges Wednesday (July 31) against the Biebs for allegedly hitting photog Damon Walters with his Ferrari outside the Laugh Factory comedy club after prosecutors said that Walters “suddenly stepped in front of” the vehicle.
Though he was pinned between the two cars and was hospitalized for minor injuries, officers determined that Walter was “at fault in the collision due to being in the roadway and blocking Bieber’s vehicle,” according to the filing rejection.
JB claimed through his attorney that he was unaware of any contact made with the paps, and prosecutors said evidence supported his claim.
“There were over a dozen paparazzi surrounding his car and on the sidewalk, and it was noisy with camera flashes and bright lights surrounding him,” the document states. “Given the scene and the stress of the situation, it is likely that Bieber did not know he had hit Walter.”
The “Beauty And The Beat” singer is currently on the road for his “Believe” world tour till December.
