The racial discrimination lawsuit against Paula Deen was dismissed in federal court today (Aug. 23).

CNN reports that U.S. District Court Judge William T. Moore Jr. ruled the lawsuit “with prejudice” defining the term as “it cannot be filed again.”

“While this has been a difficult time for both my family and myself, I am pleased that the judge dismissed the race claims and I am looking forward to getting this behind me, now that the remaining claims have been resolved,” Deen said in a statement released Friday (Aug. 23).

In May 2013, a lawsuit was filed against the television chef after an employee claimed Deen regularly used racial epithets. However, the case towards Deen also entailed abusive treatment and sexual harassment which is still “pending.” No inkling of a settlement has been revealed.
