PHOTOS: Sensation Through The Years, Never Before Seen Shots Of The Festival’s Beginnings
The world’s largest all-white rave party is back in the U.S. for round two, but this time Dutch-based company ID&T is extending the fast-growing Sensation America franchise to three more cities outside of last year’s location at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Its inaugural “Ocean of White” tour has been confirmed that it be making stops in Oakland, Las Vegas, Miami and Brooklyn this fall, promising to bring a rave experience like no other.
After 12 years of producing more than 70 Sensation events for millions of visitors in more than 20 countries, Netherlands based ID&T, set up shop last October at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Known for creating a sea of white, the much-anticipated, all-house international tour, brought thousands of colorless-clad revelers to Brooklyn… and this ain’t no kiddie rave.
Sensation founder and CEO Duncan Stutterheim first began the event to celebrate the life of his brother, Miles, who sadly died in car crash. To relish life, Stutterheim invited everyone to wear white attire instead of standard black garb. It became a yearly ritual that grew into a movement with a positive attitude to be happy, to dance and celebrate with your friends. We are preparing for the four U.S. installments of this momentous occasion taking America by white storm in every way possible. VIBE copped some photos from ID&T of Sensation’s growth from humble beginnings, as well as some never-before-seen original sketches of the storied party of the season.
