4) Shayne Oliver is officially a fashion superstar.
Hood by Air made its runway debut in February of this year and suddenly became this omnipresence in the high-fashion and hip hop worlds. Oliver’s pieces sold-out instantly and A-listers were queuing up to pay up to five figures to get their hands on this coveted high-fashion streetwear line. The label really was simply a collection of branded tees, but has since become a full-fledged luxury lifestyle brand. Oliver’s trajectory is reminiscent of the late Willi Smith – here’s hoping he carries the torch for young black high-end designers.
