Breaking Bad: Aaron Paul Makes Cameo on ‘SNL’ Season Opener
Tonight marks a bittersweet moment in television history with the series finale of Breaking Bad airing on AMC. In anticipation for the show’s final episode, Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul, who plays crystal meth handler Jesse Pinkman, made a cameo on the season premiere of Saturday Night Life.
Paul appeared as “Jesse from New Mexico” in the opening segment where the SNL cast spoofed the public’s confusion over Obamacare — President Obama’s health care initiative that has Congress split. Playing off Breaking Bad’s plot, where principal character Walter White (Bryan Cranston) battles cancer, Paul mentioned he was testifying for a “cancer sick” friend who would have benefited greatly from Obamacare. “And keep in mind – this man was a teacher with a family,” said Obama, played by SNL’s Jay Pharoah in the sketch.
‘‘He did what any of us would have done,’’ Paul said. ‘‘He started cooking meth. And soon it wasn’t just meth, it was murder. And not regular murder, he blew half a guy’s face off.”
