It’s officially Drake’s season. With his third studio effort Nothing Was The Same descending September 24, the rapper/singer says his forthcoming project is better than his Grammy-winning sophomore LP Take Care.

Take Care is a great album, but I listen to it and realize where I can do better, and I think I’ve done better on [Nothing Was the Same],” he tells MTV News.

The Toronto MC recently unveiled the project’s track list, which features Jay Z (so far) though Drizzy has said he has collaborations with Jhene Aiko and Lil Wayne in the past. Still, this album is all about being at his personal best.

“I make songs for people,” he continues. “I have aspirations to be Marvin Gaye in the back of my head. I want to sing the world’s triumphs, problems on one record and hopefully NWTS is the soundtrack to their life.”

Meanwhile, Drake is getting that EA Sports money by starring in the new FIFA ’14 commercial. Though his contribution is shrouded in mystery, watch him get his gamer on below.
