Afrojack Headed to Space…Maybe
Afrojack quite possibly, might be, maybe going to space. You see, the offer — made by suborbital spaceflight pioneers Virgin Galactic — is on the table, but the Dutch DJ hasn’t made up his mind…yet. Sure, he clocks in 200 shows a year thanks to his private Afro-jet and isn’t afraid to clock in at 205MPH in his Ferrari, but traveling to space is a different story — it is the final frontier.
Afrojack stopped by VIBE’s LA headquarters on Tuesday (Oct. 8), the day before he was the first DJ to ring the Nasdaq Bell in New York City, to contemplate being the first DJ in space. He also revealed details about his new album and single “The Spark,” which hits iTunes on Friday.
“Normally, I would say, ‘Hell Yeah! Let’s go!” he tells VIBE. “But I don’t know if it’s safe. I have a kid and a family; I want to make sure it’s safe. If it’s absolutely safe, I might be the first musician up in space.”
Do it, Afrojack. Go where no DJ has gone before. We’ll like the shit out of that Instagram photo.
Stay tuned to VIBE for more from our interview with the Dutch DJ cosmonaut-in-the-making tomorrow.
