After giving Randy Jackson the boot this past spring, Mariah Carey has called on trusted beatsmith and close confidant Jermaine Dupri to be her manager.

The news comes after the Grammy-nominated duo were spotted in the studio with Nas and JD announced it at the A3C Hip-Hop Festival this past weekend.

“A multi-talented artist of Mariah’s caliber should be doing everything imaginable. I’m sure others have said this but not the way I intend to do it. For me, it’s about the execution,” says Dupri, who forged his musical legacy with Mimi on the 1996 classic “Always Be My Baby” then went on to create “We Belong Together” and “Don’t Forget About Us.”

Carey adds, “We have a bond that surpasses music. I am super excited about our merger because we have so many innovative ideas that I know will come to fruition.”

The chart-topping twosome have reunited on wax to prep her forthcoming album The Art of Letting Go, which was originally set to drop this past summer but was delayed.

She wrote on Twitter, “While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don’t feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23.”
