Stacey Dash on Voting for Obama in 2008: ‘My Choice Was…Because He Was Black’
If there’s one celebrity you can always count on for honesty, it’s Stacey Dash. In case you needed anymore convincing that the Republican doesn’t like Barack Obama, she made an appearance on Fox News to drive the point home. The Single Ladies actress tells the controversial network that race was the driving force behind her vote in 2008 and eventually opened her eyes to the real issues.
“I didn’t know anything about [Obama] when I voted for him in 2008. My choice to do so was purely because he was black. Naively, I thought he would be the right person for the job but unfortunately it didn’t turn out that way. Obama had the opportunity to really unite this country in such a profound way, but instead he has done the opposite. We are so divided right now, everything has become about race, more than I’ve ever known in my lifetime.”
Coincidentally, Dash is also prepping her first book, Not Black Enough, for a TBD release date. We’re sure the autobiographical read will be just as controversial as her political views.
