Speculation had been offered by SlashFilm that critically-acclaimed director Tim Burton would rejoin his popular 1988 classic, Beetlejuice. Now, sources are confirming those rumors which say Warner Bros. has offered him a contract to direct.

Already listed as a producer with David Geffen, insiders are noting that Burton has yet to even read the latest draft of the script. Written by Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and David Katzenberg (), this wouldn’t mark the first time Burton ad Grahame-Smith have worked together.

Actor Michael Keaton, who played the ghost with the most, has not yet confirmed his involvement and remains up in the air at this stage of the process. So, with a few more cards left outside of the deck, we will have to keep our ears and eyes open on where Beetlejuice will end up.

Meanwhile, Tim Burton already has another project set up and raring to go. His next effort is Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, which is an adaptation of a Ransom Riggs’ young adult novel, and will be released in theaters on July 15, 2014.
