The Best Scenes From Jay Z’s ‘Fade To Black’ Movie

| November 14, 2013 - 9:20 pm

Imagine if Jay Z had actually retired from hip-hop that epic night in 2004 at New York’s prestigious Madison Square Garden. While the moment mirrors Jordan’s game-winner against the Utah Jazz or Ray Lewis’ recent Superbowl win, things didn’t quite end there for Jay like it did for those sports heroes. Almost exactly a year after he released The Black Album, Jay produced a behind-the-scenes look at his alleged last concert ever. Fade to Black would trump Jay’s Hard Knock Life Tour documentary Backstage, simply because of the scenario surrounding his “last call.” The documentary was directed by Pat Paulson and Michael John Warren and featured a host of Hov’s friends including Ghostface Killah, Just Blaze, Missy Elliott, Funkmaster Flex, R. Kelly and of course the “hottest chick in the game (not pictured wearing his chain) Beyoncé. In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Black Album, VIBE decided to assemble the best scenes from Fade To Black.
