If you didn’t watch the inaugural YouTube Music Awards, you missed a disorganized, yet innovative approach to filming awards shows in the future. Hosted by actors Jason Schwartzman and comedian Reggie Watts, the first-ever YouTube Music Awards, in addition to serving out awards, featured the live taping of several music videos. Eminem was one of the lucky ones to try this innovative approach to shooting music videos at award shows.

Marshall Mathers, who also picked up the evening’s Artist Of The Year award, performed his new MMLP2 cut “Rap God.” The black-and-white footage was filmed on-location by the three-person art collective, Syndrome, also responsible for Em’s “Berzerk” music video.

Watch the one-take “Rap God” music video below. An alternate version of the video is reportedly going to be released in the next two weeks.
