Bruno Mars Comments On His Upcoming Super Bowl Performance
The 28-year-old singer has seen an impressive year from two-platinum albums to a Grammy award. Now, 2014 will be another year to cherish when the “Gorilla” singer leads the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show.
The fear of performing in front of millions isn’t worrying Bruno Mars, but the weather might play a big factor during that blistering month of February.
“Everyone’s putting the fear of God in me like there’s going to be a blizzard,” Mars said in an interview with Billboard. “I know it’s going to be cold and I just got to face it.”
Despite the possible chilly temperature, Mars’ excitement wasn’t cooled off when he was asked what was his response to getting that phone call for performing on the big stage.
“It was something exciting for me and my (band),” the “Grenade” singer said. “It wasn’t too long ago when we were performing in clubs and bars and pubs, and even when I put (my first) album out, (we were) opening acts for a bunch of different artists, living in a van and traveling around and kind of putting in the work and time.”
This year’s sporting event will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Feb. 2
