Drake will be running with a new team soon. No, he’s not leaving OVO behind and no, he’s not dumping Cash Money. But he is the newest member of #TeamJordan. The Toronto rapper agreed to become part of the Jordan Brand, forming a new partnership with the company Michael Jordan built from the ground up.

“Growing up, I’m sure we all idolized this guy. He goes by the name of Michael Jordan,” Drake said during a show in Portland on Tuesday night. “Today, I came to Portland and officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family.”

What exactly does that mean for Drake? Judging from the Instagram photos that he threw up a short time later, he’ll be adding OVO branding to Air Jordan kicks. It also seems like he’ll be helping the brand promote new sneakers moving forward. And despite what you might think—we’ve seen all the mean-spirited memes directed at both Drake and Jordan Brand—we think that Drake joining #TeamJordan is a good thing. Here, 5 reasons you should stop hating on Drake’s new collabo.
