HBO Sports: Peter Berg’s ‘State Of Play: Trophy Kids’ Looks At Pushing Kids Too Far In Sports (VIDEO)
HBO Sports has a new documentary series titled State Of Play produced by Emmy-nominated director Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, The Kingdom.) The focus for the first documentary of the series, State Of Play: Trophy Kids is about parents and their obsession with their children’s athletic participation. The documentary focuses on four parents and five children and the challenges of raising a child in today’s competitive sports environment. Variety called Trophy Kids “required viewing for youth-sports leagues nationwide.”
After the documentary airs, Berg hosts a roundtable discussion with guests like sports psychologist Dr. Larry Lauer and former NFL quarterback Todd Marinovich, the latter who dealt with an ambitious and eager father throughout his athletic journey.
The all new HBO Sports documentary State Of Play series from Peter Berg debuts Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 9PM ET/PT on HBO.
