Toronto Raptors To Host ‘Drake Night’

This past September, Drake was named the global ambassador of his hometown team, the Toronto Raptors. While the OVO hoopla is an initiative to rally hype for the 2016 All-Star Games slated to take over Toronto, the rapper is first taking his suit, tie and title to the Air Canada Centre when the T-Dot ballers take on the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 11, 2014 for “Drake night.”

“I have to say I’m truly honored to be up here with these distinguished gentlemen,” he told the media at the press conference, announcing his new resume bullet. “There are two things I’m extremely proud of: my city and my family … Being up here reminds me of two things actually: that I have a new family and that I have to go to Harry Rosen to get more neutral suits ’cause the vibrant blues at press conferences aren’t going to cut it anymore.”

Future The Prince, his official DJ, is expected to take to the hardwood for the halftime show, but one can only hope that a Drake-themed night means a mini-OVO fest with complementary owl x raptor sweaters for the entire arena.
