Diddy rang in 2014 with a good cause and a lot of help from his A-list pals. The Bad Boy CEO promised to donate a million dollars worth of Uber rides in 2014 upon reaching his goal of pledges promising not to drink and drive.
VIPs came out in droves to support the cause, including Zoe Saldana, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ali Landry, Joanna Krupa, Gretchen Rossi, and Kim Zolciak. Kris Jenner, Jamie Foxx and Jordin Sparks, who all hosted pledge parties encouraging guests to hashtag #CirocTheNewYear and promise to get home safely. Dancer Derek Hough put his own spin on the campaign, modeling a hashtag shirt for Instagram pledging his support.
So here’s how it went down.
By New Years Eve, 11,200 hashtags had been pledged, there were over 3 million retweets, 16,333 original Twitter pledges, 20K likes for Kris Jenner’s pledge party and 26.7k likes for Derek Hough’s IG pledge. Not too shabby.
True to his word, the man formerly known as Puff dropped a milli for safe Uber rides this 2014. To redeem your free ride hit up Ciroc’s Facebook and Twitter page.
