Late Pass: FCC Chairman Says Janet Jackson Was Treated Unfairly For Super Bowl Nip Slip

Once upon a time, in 2004, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake graced the stage for their Super Bowl Halftime performance. Audiences got more than they bargained for when the King of Pop’s sister had a wardrobe malfunction and her breast was exposed in the nipslip seen all around the world.

After issuing a video apology for the televised mishap, Miss Jackson may be getting the apology she deserves from FCC chairman at the time, Michael Powell.

Powell originally called the incident “a new low for prime-time TV” after mothers expressed their outrage but is now reportedly saying the whole thing was blown out of proportion and regrets how the blame was put solely on Janet.

“I personally thought that was really unfair,” he said, according to Perez Hilton. “It all turned into being about her. In reality, if you slow the thing down, it’s Justin ripping off her breastplate.”

The singer/actress shouldn’t have much to be concerned about (it was a decade ago, after all) as she is now living it up in the Middle East with her new billionaire hubby Wissam Al Mana.
