Pharrell Debuts New Major Lazer Collaboration
Oscar nominee Pharrell performed a new track during Holy Ship!, a three-day rave that set sail from Miami to The Bahamas at the beginning of January. Both Diplo and Pharrell were on the bill and the two decided to share a little new collaboration with the ravers in the crowd.
“Holy Ship! This is a brand new Pharrell/ Major Lazer tune here,” Diplo said from behind the turntables about the track. No word on where it will appear.
Pharrell had an incredible 2013, guesting on two summer hits — Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.” He also had the sleeper hit “Happy,” the track he penned for Despicable Me 2 that earned him the Best Original Song Oscar nomination this year. In other words, there’s a lot to look forward to on Pharrell’s pending follow-up to his 2006 solo debut, In My Mind.
