‘Catching Fire’ Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Dies at Age 46

Hunger Games: Catching Fire actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his New York City apartment on Sunday, February 2. Reports state that the NYPD received a 911 call around 11:30 am in the West Village. The actor was found alone and unconscious when officials arrived at the scene.

E! News reports that Hoffman died from an apparent drug overdose.

Hoffman struggled with drug addiction in the past and sought treatment for heroin in May 2013. The actor is set to star in the next Hunger Games installment, Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1 which will hit theaters in November.

Hoffman was 46. He leaves behind a wife and three children.
