Lightning In A Bottle Moves To Central California In 2014

Last year, VIBE went to Lightning In A Bottle, an art and music-infused, 5-day festival that, let’s just say, caters to the adventurous spirit. We left saying one thing: “Next year, we are coming back to Lightning In A Bottle and bringing ALL our friends.”

The DJ-centric wonderland returns to a new location in 2014. Lightning In A Bottle, or LIB for short, will take place over Memorial Day weekend (May 22-26) at San Antonio Recreation Area in Bradley, Calif., along beautiful Lake San Antonio. The new site is about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco in Monterey County.

While continuously delivering a diverse electronic music line-up, LIB has struggled to find a permanent location for its weeklong festival. Last year, fest creators The Do LaB were able to secure the campgrounds around Lake Skinner near Temecula, Calif. in the nick of time, but forced to move the festival to mid-July. Headliners included Purity Ring, Nicolas Jarr, Griz, Paper Diamond and countless other house, bass and dubstep acts, some even performing from the fest’s Wookie Stage, essentially a treehouse where DJs spin above the crowd.

Early bird tickets for LIB 2014 go on sale Feb. 18 at The music lineup for the festival is expected to be released in March. In the meantime, check out VIBE hanging out with several artists at last year’s Lightning In A Bottle festival as part of our Art of VIBE series below.
