During his visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live, fashion designer Tom Ford finally revealed how he really feels about Jay Z’s track named after him. Ford told Kimmel that the Roc Nation CEO emailed him prior to releasing the single and warned him that he would be making the song.

“I didn’t know what to expect,” he admitted. After hearing the song for the first time, Ford said that he “had to go on rap translator to understand it” because he had no idea what Blue Ivy’s father was saying. In the end, Tom said that he loves the name drop.

“The message is actually quite positive,” said the designer. “He doesn’t do drugs, he wears Tom Ford. That’s how he gets his high.”

He also spoke about Jay’s knockoff Tom Ford jersey that he later recreated as an actual piece of his. “I made a knockoff of a knockoff,” he joked.
