‘House Of Cards’ Star Corey Stoll In Talks To Join ‘Ant-Man’
While all the hype has been focused on the production of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Marvel’s other 2015 movie, Ant-Man, is a week away from production. Word on the e-streets is that Corey Stoll (House Of Cards) is set to join the latter pictures in an unspecified role.
Reports come from Variety saying that Stoll will join the already loaded cast that includes Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd, Patrick Wilson, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Pena. Aside from Rudd, Douglas and probably Lilly (who is rumored to play The Wasp), no one knows who Stoll could possibly play.
For those who don’t know, Douglas stars in the Edgar Wright-directed action-adventure flick as Dr. Hank Pym and Rudd will play Scott Lang, a man who steals the former’s Ant-Man suit to collect money for his ailing daughter. Pym revolutionized science in his youth with the creation of Pym Particles, which allow the user to shrink (and later grow) their bodies. While it may be possible to see a young Pym in action via flashback, there’s no strong indication that that would be Stoll’s role.
Since Stoll’s standout performance on the Netflix original show House Of Cards, he also stole the show as Ernest Hemmingway in Midnight In Paris. Up next for him is the sci-fi TV series, The Strain as well as the talented ensemble This Is Where I Leave You.
Ant-Man, written by Wright and Joe Cornish, will hit theaters July 17, 2015, almost nine years after it was announced to Marvel fans worldwide.
