Tyler, the Creator didn’t have what you’d call a peaceful SXSW experience. The 23-year-old California rapper was thrown into the stoney lonesome while in Austin, Texas for inciting a riot, a Class B misdemeanor.

Cops stopped the Odd Future rapper on his way out of town, cuffing him at Austin-Bergstrom Airport on Saturday (March 15.) He was released later that same day on a $25,000 bond and boarded a flight to Dallas for his sold-out show at the House of Blues in the city.

Tyler, real name Tyler Gregory Okonma, was onstage at the Converse x Thrasher Magazine “Death Match” SXSW day party, where several fans gathered outside during his performance. After the venue reached max capacity, Tyler encouraged those outside the venue to push their way in past security. A video of the crowd chanting “Push! Push! Push!” and breaking in has made its way online.

If convicted of the misdemeanor he can face up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Earlier in the week, Tyler the Creator’s set at the Mohawk was canceled after a drunk driver plowed through a crowd of fans waiting to get in to that venue to see his set. Two people were killed in that incident.
