UPDATE (as of 11:19 am): Per Epic Records: This is inaccurate, Mary, Questlove nor D’Angelo are on the album.”

L.A. Reid’s son may have just let the cat out of the bag. Aaron Reid, who occasionally cameos in E!’s Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, put on his A&R hat for Michael Jackson’s Xscape album and revealed to Page Six that Mary J. Blige, Questlove, D’Angelo and Justin Timberlake will all be on the King of Pop’s second posthumous LP.

“Michael Jackson didn’t trust anyone with his music. He stopped finishing songs,” he says about the tracks’ origin. “He had a whole bunch of material stored away. He had hooks. He had verses. Then we put it together.”

This confirms previous reports that Mary J, Quest and D’Angelo would be on the MJ LP after one of the project’s contributors, guitarist Jesse Johnson, spilled the beans on Facebook.

For MJ’s next effort, due May 13, the younger Reid worked closely with his father and executive producer Timbaland, and was responsible for hiring StarGate, Jerome “Jroc” Harmon and Rodney Jerkins to produce the album’s eight songs.

The first single “Love Never Felt So Good” is slated for release later today.
