Illangelo’s music lays strong emphasis on cinematic and visually appealing concepts. In the Bromance Records signee’s latest music video for his single “Clockwork” featuring Phlo Finister, he showcases this in the most gangsta way!

Renowned artist James Turell inspires the setting – minimal, black and white, futuristic alternative world. Directed by Los Angeles filmmaker Lance Drake, the story is like an Assassin’s Creed novella, a young assassin is horrified by the death of her mentor, as he slowly dies in front of her eyes; she seeks out his killer to avenge his death. The result – an all out sword-fighting showdown, while cutting back and forth to Illangelo’s and Phlo’s trippy optical illusory galaxy.

It concludes with a subtle announcement of the artists’ new collaborative project ‘Youthquaker’. In an interview with Earmilk, Illangelo revealed that he and Phlo have already written an album together called ‘Projections’, which will be released later this year.
