West Coast artist manager and VIBE opinionista, Devan Welch of Rubix Management, runs his trap on some hi-hat tattering, 808-filled trap tunes.

1. Smookie Illson X Zooly Feat. Ragga Twins- “Ready”
Zooly has made songs sampling iPhones to kittens, but one thing stands clear with this major collab with Smookie Illson and Ragga Twins. The guy is here to stay. It combines elements of trap, Moombah, electro, and a dash of the island life. Very interested to see what Zooly has to offer in his next release.

2. E-Rock & Clayton William Feat. Nayelli “Move It All Around”
E-Rock and Clayton William are coming out with some straight fire with “Movie It All Around” I can’t imagine any girl keeping their ass still if they hear this in the club. I suggest all DJs download this track ASAP and play it out as fast as they can. They’ll turn the club into a twerk fest in .5 seconds as soon as the drop hits.

3. RL Grime – “Core”
I don’t think anyone can honestly dispute RL Grime’s talent and knowledge of production, but with Core I think you see a whole new Grime. The dynamics of this single is phenomenal with what I assume will be one of the most played out tracks this summer. I’m now counting the seconds for his debut album to drop.

4. The Weeknd – “Often” (Goshfather & Jinco Remix)
The homies from LA have done it again. Young duo Goshfather & Jinco have smashed it with this bootleg of The Weeknd’s “Often” They’ve given it just enough oomf to put this originally downtempo chill song on the dance floors and believe me, you’ll want to get down to this.

5. “Bubblegum” (Tropkillaz Remix)
If you’ve been to Brazil you’ve seen the women and their picture perfect bodies. Well thank the heavens the Brazilian duo Tropkillaz has remixed Bubblegum to make those angelic butts move. The half part twerk half part bounce track will have trapaholics all over approving.

6. Ozzie & Hrly – “Offender”
There seems to be this new minimal hip hop/trap infused movement in the UK, which I’m blown away by. Artists like Ozzie are coming out with music fans of Hucci, Disclosure, and Diplo can all agree with. Follow the melody with pristine placed 808’s and high hats, and let it ride. There’s something in the water across the pond, and it’s worth getting your toes wet.
