Watch: ‘NBA Countdown’ Host Sage Steele Speaks On The Importance Of Leadership

Sage Steele understands the significance of family values, strength, and leadership, which she highlights in this Army Stars and Stripes spotlight.

Steele began her career in the sports realm in 1995 when she worked at CBS affiliate WSBT-TV. From there, Steele made her way to ESPN where she joined SportsCenter in 2007 and later became the host of the hit show “NBA Countdown.” On this program Steele spearheads each basketball-filled segment with confidence and knowledge, becoming the definition of a leader.

“Leadership to me means doing the right thing even when sometimes you don’t want to, even when you’re afraid to,” she said. Steele also discussed her ties to the Army through her father Col. Gary Steele, whom she garnered her leadership skills from.

“What I admire the most about my dad is how he has been such an amazing leader, such an amazing example to us,” she said.
