The truth of the matter is if Weird Al Yankovic showed the inability to legitimately mimic his popular subjects, the comedy vet’s career would have easily stalled two decade ago. But that’s long been the magic of the shameless king of the nerds who has managed to outlast many of his targets. Weird Al takes his wacky re-imaginings very seriously. Now a generation of heads who get a majority of their laughs from homemade YouTube clips have discovered that Yankovic is still one funny dude three decades into his award-winning career. As you run through his latest lighthearted musical pranks taking on such standouts as Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” (“Tacky”); Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” (“Word Crimes”); Lorde’s “Royal (“Foil”); and Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” (“Handy”), VIBE presents Weird Al Yankovic’s 15 funniest parodies of all time. —Keith Murphy (@murphdogg29)
