15 Kid Cartoons Secretly Made For Adults
Growing up, cartoons were a necessity on rainy days, after school, and on Saturday mornings. We’ll never forget plopping down in front the television with a bowl of Cap’n Crunch eagerly awaiting Rugrats or Wayne Head to start. Depending on what day of the week it was, we’d also tune into Scooby Doo, Dexter’s Laboratory, or Mickey Mouse. Do those shows even exist anymore? Time flies.
Back then, we were too naive to pick up on small details but as an adult we definitely notice crude jokes and suspect activities in animated series. Every so often nostalgia takes over and we watch one of our favorites for old-time’s sake on Netflix, in efforts to feel like a kid again. That is, until we get smacked in the face with more than a few inappropriate moments or subliminal messages only a “grown-up” would understand. Word on the street is Alice in Wonderland was really about a girl having a bad acid trip but I digress. Here are 15 kid cartoons we are convinced were secretly made for adults after the jump.
