NBA Denies Wanting Raptors To Fire Drake
Drake’s place as most GIF-able global ambassador is safe. After the rapper made these “Kevin Durant” comments at OVO Fest earlier this month, the Toronto Raptors were slapped with a $25,000 fine for “poaching” the 2014 MVP for the team. The Toronto Globe and Mail then reported that the NBA wanted the Raptors to “strip Drake of his title” after offering to remove the fine, but now a senior league rep says it’s poppycock. “As the Raptors’ global ambassador, Drake must follow our anti-tampering rules,” Tim Frank, the league’s senior vice-president of basketball communications, said in an email to The Canadian Press on Wednesday. “At no point did we suggest his title be removed but we were clear that as long as he acted as a representative of the team, he is subject to the league’s rules,” he added. Drake’s allegiance to the Raptors remains steady as he recently took to Twitter to challenge ESPN’s Kevin Blackistone, who offered an alternative G.A. for Toronto.
Just sayin'. If I ran the @Raptors I'd flow with @shadkmusic http://t.co/hBOQwC6gTG

Did Kevin Blackistone really just ask why Shad or the other "dancehall rappers" aren't the Global Ambassador? Haaa stop the madness.
