Music

By: / October 13, 2014

Last time VIBE spoke with Subscape, he was trailblazing a “massive, melodic movement” and gearing up to embark on his first solo North American tour.

The UK DJ/producer has been busy in the studio since then, releasing the grooving “I Would Have Loved You,” previously featured on the Caspa-helmed Dub Police’s Past Present Future album. As Subscape prepares for a huge debut artist album, we the dubstep virtuoso to share some of his own sonic inspirations.

Check them out after the jump.

1.  Chemical Brothers – “Star Guitar”
“One of my all time favorite tracks that I never get tired of listening to. The best music video as well!”

2. L-Wiz – “Girl from Codeine City”
“This is one of the first tracks that got released when I came on to Dub Police as an artist. A classic Dub Police track that is making a comeback!”

3. Logistics – “Together”
“This tune always seems to pop up when I’m asked to pick my top tracks. If you don’t know about this track, then you weren’t a raver in that era!”

4. Bonobo – “Kong”
“I discovered Bonobo when I was attending Bestival back in 2012, and he smashed his DJ set there. The Black Sands album is a great listen!”

5. Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Californication”
This track reminds me of my carefree teen years with my mates. I love how just a second of the track can bring back great memories.
