V. Bozeman Talks Working With Timbaland and ‘Empire’
When the premiere of Empire aired with it’s powerful opening scene of a chocolate, bald headed beauty singing like her life depended on it, social media had to find out who this powerhouse was. Belting “What is Love,” V. Bozeman became an instant favorite, with fans begging for more.
“It’s really about the perfect timing with breaking an artist and that one big break you’ve been waiting for,” she said in an interview with Celeb Edition. “[Empire's] been a great boost and the visibility I needed to really make a big impact in the industry and I see it’s doing that. I think this is a good start.”
The FOX hip-hopera, which was renewed for a second season after only two episodes, was one the network’s highest rating shows, but fans wondered if the opening act would re-appear before season’s end. In an interview with the site, Bozeman revealed that not only is she returning to the show, but with new songs.
The singer is now working exclusively with hip hop heavyweight Timbaland, who also executive produces music for Empire. The living legend hand picked her (we can see why), took her under his wings, and produced their debut collaborative project, Opera Noir. And if you weren’t already excited enough, Bozeman will release her single in February/March, with her album slated for a summer release. Bring on the talent.
