Donald Trump Disses Mexico: ‘They Are Bringing Drugs, Crime And Rapists’
So how does billionaire tycoon Donald Trump plan to win the 2016 presidential candidacy? By bashing the largest minority group in the nation, of course. In a pompous presidential campaign announcement on Tuesday (June 16), Trump gave Latinos a serious tongue-lashing, making heinous claims about America’s neighbors living South of the border.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best,” Trump said. “They’re not sending you… They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”
He also announced his desire to build a “great, great wall” on the Mexican-American border to prevent the “wrong people” from coming into the country.
Now, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights organization is calling Trump “an extremely silly” man and couldn’t be less amused. “This is a man who has a pathological need for attention,” said Lisa Navarrete, spokeswoman for National Council of La Raza. “I look at him as a two-year-old who will say a naughty word to get their parents’ attention. That’s what he’s doing.”
Navarrete said Trump’s statements had no basis. “Part of the reason why Latinos are so alienated from the Republican party these days is there’s a sense that there are people who actually believe [what Trump said],” she continued.
Trump joins a lengthy roster of Republicans coming for that presidential spot including Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Rand Paul, former Gov. Rick Perry, former Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Marco Rubio and others.
