Ayesha Curry Ruffled A Few Feathers On Twitter With Commentary On How Women Dress

Another day, another Twitter debate.

In many ways, 2015 was a big year for feminism, and Ayesha Curry is closing it out with a conversation about modesty. Taking to Twitter to share her thoughts on “the latest fashion trends,” wife of NBA MVP Stephen Curry got the Internet talking last night when she professed that she prefers to “keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters.” In a mini rant, Mrs. Chef Curry made her case for choosing “classy over trendy:”

And of course it got the masses in a heated debate; women have been a large topic of discussion in recent months. Amber Rose’s “Slut Walk” drove a conversation about perceived promiscuity, and how it affected her relationships with Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa. Amber also exchanged words with West and Khloe Kardashian, who both slammed her for her past as an exotic dancer. Minister Louis Farrakhan also joined in on the conversation about how women should present themselves, specifically requesting that Jay Z keep Beyonce “covered.”

“Look at Rihanna, look at Nicki Minaj and look at Beyoncé, Farrakhan said. “These are some of the most beautiful women you could find…These are the people who set styles. Today we strip the women of their clothes, how can a man think straight looking at the beauty of Beyoncé?” Curry’s commentary led to some women defending their rights to dress as they please, and other Twitter users resorting to calling the NBA wife’s naysayers “hoes:”

Hours after setting Twitter ablaze, Curry returned to clarify that her opinions were not meant to be used against women who disagree:
