Dwayne Johnson Reveals ‘Fast & Furious’ Inspired Show On Fox

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a force to be reckoned with on the television and film circuit. You already knew this given his extensive filmography, but in case you needed a friendly reminder, the wrestler/actor has another production up his sleeves.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johnson is set to develop a “car-focused cop show” titled Boost Unit. The program will air on Fox, and is reportedly inspired by the Fast and the Furious franchise. The focus of the show will aim a lens on the LAPD’s Auto Theft Task Force and how they handle car crimes from theft to trafficking.

“We’re bringing to life the high-stakes street pursuits and grueling work of this very specialized elite task force and we’re excited to partner with Imperative Entertainment to combine an epic mix of gripping action and sophisticated storytelling,” Johnson told the site.

This forthcoming show adds to a list of shows and movies the famed entertainer has lined up for 2016. He’s also starring in Central Intelligence alongside comedian Kevin Hart, announced plans to remake Baywatch, and dropped hints at a second season of Ballers on HBO, which premiered in 2015 and garnered 9 million viewers, marking it as HBO’s highest-rated half-hour show since 2009.
