Kid Cudi cracked the lid on mental health after detailing his ongoing battle with depression and suicidal thoughts in an open letter to fans last week. Now, TDE’s Isaiah Rashad is keeping the conversation going by adding his thoughts to what has largely been a taboo discussion in hip hop. The Sun’s Tirade artist, who has struggled with drug and alcohol abuse in the past, urged fans to be transparent about their feelings in a series of tweets.

“Don’t go through the problems in your head alone. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help. The worst thing to do is think ur alone in it,” he wrote Sunday (Oct. 9). “[Everybody’s] somebody’s everything. [Nobody’s] nothing.”

Let’s hope that this–along with the #YouGoodMan hashtag inspired by Cudi’s confession–is only the beginning of a much-needed dialogue.
