Dear Beloved: Casanova Warns Us To ‘Be Safe Tho’ On New Mixtape

Brooklyn thoroughbred Casanova may still have a novice rap career, but that’s all about to change. With his New York City anthem, “Don’t Run,” filling clubs and radio airwaves, the 30-year-old pure-blooded street soldier is capitalizing on his energy with the release of his mixtape, Be Safe Tho.

Other than the Chris Brown and Lo-assisted, “OBH,” the rookie rapper handles the 11-track effort solo. GQ Beats, Jahlil Beats, Heatmakerz, Teddy Da Don, and others, get production credits on Cas’ rookie effort.

Known for his energetic, aggressive, booming voice and gritty lyrics, Be Safe Tho is a shotgun ride through stories of armed robberies, drug deals, prison and other social constructs.

The rapper’s debut project comes just after the release of his heartfelt single, “Tax Letter,” a song written to his friend and podcast personality, Taxstone. The fellow native Brooklynite who tagged all of the social media posts with “#BeSafeTho, is currently in jail for his alleged involvement in the 2016 Irving Plaza shooting involving Troy Ave. 

Tax, real name Daryl Campbell, was indicted on weapons charges and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
