Citizens in Being were stunned earlier this week when they spotted a giant mushroom cloud hovering high in the sky.
Youtube footage shows the enormous cloud taking over from a highrise building. Authorities urged folks to stay in doors until an investigation could determine exactly what caused the unusual happening. No one has yet to be reported injured and no reported explosions were documented in the area.
Chinese police arrested two internet users who claimed air pollution had been triggered by a chlorine leak at a chemical plant or an explosion at a nearby steel refinery, according to The Economic Observer. Reports says government authorities told the Xinhua news agency straw burning was the cause and denied there had been any industrial accidents.
No one knows what caused the mushroom cloud but China continues to have serious problems with air pollution.
