Will this year’s MTV Movie Awards mark the return of the badass? We have the nominees for you to check out!

If you thought that awards season was over with the conclusion of the Oscars, you’re sorely mistaken! The nominees for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards were announced with Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained and Seth MacFarlane’s comedy Ted as the leading nods, with seven apiece, including both vying for the prize in the “Movie of the Year” category.

Another nominee in the top category, David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook, trails with six nominations. Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men: Days of Future Past), has multiple acting nominations for her role in that film, as well as the horror flick House at the End of the Street.

MTV, always a stickler for innovative fodder, is introducing two new categories this year: “Best Shirtless Performance” and “Best Musical Moment”.

As we reported last week, Anchorman 2 star Will Ferrell will receive MTV’s first-ever “Comedic Genius” award.

As previously announced, Will Ferrell will receive MTV’s first-ever “Comedic Genius” award.

You can now cast your vote for your favorites on MovieAwards.MTV.com, through April 13. The 2013 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Rebel Wilson, will air live from Culver City, Calif., on April 14.
