2 Chainz released his sophomore LP B.O.A.T.S. II: MEtime back in September, but he's already in the studio working on its follow-up.
While B.O.A.T.S. II: MEtime boasted hit-makers like Pharrell Williams and Mike Will Made It among its producers, the LP failed to sell well, barely topping 150,000 copies. Unlike 2012's Grammy-nominated Based on a T.R.U. Story, which was certified gold thanks to singles "I'm Different" and the Drake-feature "No Lie," the sequel failed to produce any major radio hits. Perhaps this is what fueled Tity Boi to head back in the studio so quick?
“I’m already working on my third album, I have a single already," 2 Chainz told Hot 93.7 host Jenny Boom Boom during a recent sit-down. "I never stop. The day my album dropped, I went to the studio.” He's eyeing what he calls an "A-A list" of collaborators that include Jay Z, 50 Cent, Eminem and Andre 3000 for the new LP.
Since he broke out on the scene as 2 Chainz, the Atlanta rapper has been releasing new LPs at a rate of one per year. Guess that means we can look out for No. 3 sooner than later. Check out 2 Chainz talk LP 3 below.
