Raise those hands, this is their party. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis had the most nominations coming into Sunday's American Music Awards. They only took home one win of their six nominations -- favorite rap and hip-hop album for The Heist. Accepting his award via satellite from Miami, Fla., the ever-outspoken Macklemore gave his thoughts on the recent George Zimmerman verdict in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
"I want to acknowledge Trayvon Martin and the hundreds and hundreds of kids that are dying each year due to racial profiling," said Macklemore. "It's time we fight against racism and the laws that protect it."
The duo came back on later in the broadcast to peform their Heist single, "Can't Hold Us." Watch below.
