Pharrell’s Rolodex knows no bounds. After snatching 2013 with hit records alongside the likes of Daft Punk for “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” (both of which have been nominated for Grammys, btw), it looks like Skateboard P is also cooking up some new new with singer Mayer Hawthorne.

According to VIBE’s music editor Mikey Fresh, who is on the ground at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles, the “Crime” singer revealed he has songs in the stash with Pharrell after the two spoke about doing an album together in the past.

“I think I first met Pharrell on stage at a Snoop Dogg show,” he told Life+Times in a past interview. “We both have a deep appreciation for rap music and Steely Dan, so when we got in the studio it was definitely magic. [Pharrell] had this vision of me as a sort of stadium rock artist, which I didn’t necessarily agree with 100%, but it was really fun to experiment with that vibe.

Sir Williams’ 2014 itinerary already includes possibly reviving the Neptunes and Clipse connection as well as a solo effort (his first in a decade) as a new signee of Columbia Records.

Mayer’s most recent effort Where Does This Door Go, which dropped last July, also included a track with Kendrick Lamar.

Stay tuned for more details and the full interview.
